ABOUT CBYE - Our Vision
Our Mission:
|
To provide talented young dancers the opportunity to perform
with professional artists, dancers, musicians and choreographers
from auditions to grand finale. |
|
To work with the community in bringing arts and culture to all ages
at affordable prices. |
|
To educate children to appreciate classical music and ballet
and to develop an audience for the art of dance. |
|
| The Canadian Ballet Youth Ensemble (CBYE), a not-for-profit charitable corporation was created in 1991 to promote dance in Hamilton and the surrounding area. Dancers for all CBYE performances are chosen by auditions which are widely advertised and open to all dance students throughout Southern Ontario. Cast members invariably represent a number of dance studios and are chosen on the basis of talent, technical skill and level of training. |
 |
Since its inception in 1991, CBYE has sustained continued and impressive growth.
Original ballets were created based on children's classics such as Babar, Snow White and Pinocchio aimed mainly at Elementary School audiences.
CBYE is the only local dance organization who has provided an opportunity for their students to work along side professional artists such as Robert Desrosiers, Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, Rex Harrington, Evelyn Hart, Fran Augustyn, Serge Lavoie, Gizela Witkowsky, Owen Montegue, Robert Desrosiers, Roberto Campanella, Robert Glumbek; Internationally renown ballet companies Kiev Ballet and Ballet Ouest de Montreal.
