Cuban Hurricane Relief

2008 was a year that brought much distraught and agony to our friends in Cuba. Cuba suffered a tremendous devastation with the hurricanes that have struck this year. Over one tenth of the island's population was moved to shelters.  Hundreds of families have lost their homes.

In support of this cause, CBYE cast members have rallied together to collect donations both monetary and everyday goods such as clothing and toys. A special recognition goes to cast members Alexandra Cormier and Victoria Gennaccaro who started a clothing drive at their local high school, St. Thomas More.  Students presented their donations to the National Ballet of Cuba’s artistic director, Alicia Alonso, during October’s performances of Giselle.
