ARTCRACKER MEDIA UPDATE

The Canadian Ballet Youth Ensemble (CBYE) is proud to present In the Land of Magic – an Artcracker exhibition now on display at Hamilton Place. In the Land of Magic features new works by renowned Cuban painters Cosme Proenza Almaguer and Pedro Pablo Oliva. The exhibition is on display until December 16.

DETAILS:

• The Artcracker exhibition is the first two-person show in Canada for Cosme Proenza Almaguer and Pedro Pablo Oliva.

• Mr. Almaguer and Mr. Oliva will be in Hamilton, and available for media interviews and group exhibition tours from December 7 – 16.

• A public reception with Mr. Almaguer and Mr. Oliva will take place on December 8, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Piano Nobile Lounge at Hamilton Place. This reception is free, compliments of the CBYE.

• Original artworks and limited edition giclée prints are available for purchase at the artists’ reception on December 8 and throughout the exhibition. 

• A welcome reception for Alicia Alonso – internationally-renowned prima ballerina and artistic director of the National Ballet of Cuba, will take place on December 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Hamilton Place Studio Theatre.  The reception will be hosted by Evelyn Hart –prima ballerina and artistic advisor to CBYE. Following this reception is the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra’s Christmas Concert dedicated to Alicia Alonso. Tickets for the reception and concert are $100. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
