Patricia Karen Gagic at Artcracker

International Painter, Cuban National Ballet
Share Magic Evening at Hamilton Place

Hamilton - It borders on the surreal. It seems as if the magic fairy of Ancaster and the magic fairies of Cuba have convened to meet at the Artcracker exhibit, right under the shadow of the Piano Nobile Gallery and right in front of the Great Hall of Hamilton Place. Upon arrival they will proceed to practice on the public their unique, exotic brand of artistic exorcism.

The covenant promises a seductively warm potion rarely experienced on a winter’s eve. It brews best when garnished with brilliant colours for the eyes, intoxicating music for the ears, delightful dance defying the imagination and a sheer explosion of beauty, grace and movement that will surely bewitch children and adults alike. The noble people of Hamilton are in for a real treat.

Patricia Karen Gagic, a renowned international painter and resident of Ancaster, refers to the 14 pieces she has created as a Mystical Fairy Exhibition. The sixty astonishing dancers with the world-famous Cuban National Ballet call their magic The Nutcracker. It is the perfect formula for a mid December evening of magic at its best: two professionals, each a master in their own artistic media, share the stage on a magic journey the likes of which most mortals have rarely witnesses around this neck of the woods.

Ms. Gagic succinctly threads on the plot that conjured the artists together. According to Ms. Gagic “there is a beautiful relationship between our hearts and minds as we enter into the world of the Nutcracker.  The element of surprise is always evident with each performance. We lose ourselves in the characters and the magic opens our imagination to creative places that hold our attention for days and weeks until the next year’s performance.”

When invited to participate as the Artist for the Artcracker exhibition Ms. Gagic “wanted to bring that magic and mystery to a new level.  The pieces that have been created are photographic based with an emphasis on the imagination of the fairies.  Each of the 14 pieces has been created to reveal and poke ourselves to find the reality within the mystical illusion. The uniqueness of each piece takes us to a place that would seem out of the ordinary in our day to day lives, thus creating an atmosphere that is playful, colourful and engaging.” Such is the magic of her work. Such is the fantasy of the Nutcracker.

Ms. Gagic will be at the Artcracker Gallery opening reception December 11th at 6pm. The Exhibit “MYSTICAL FAIRY” runs through December 11th to December 14th .

Each of these pieces will be available for purchase at a price of $500.00.  There is an opportunity for additional original pieces to be created if the one that you enjoy has been spoken for.  Orders will be taken during the event through the office of the Canadian Ballet Youth Ensemble at 905 818 3865 or calling the artist Patricia Gagic at 905 921 3203 directly.
