Hamilton, ON: December 4, 2006 -- For Immediate Release
MEDIA ANNOUNCEMENT
CBYE TO ALLOW MEDIA ACCESS TO HISTORIC TIVOLI,
UNVEIL MURAL
Press Conference
at the Tivoli Theatre Corner of James and Wilson
on Thursday December 7th, 1:30pm
The Canadian Ballet Youth Ensemble (CBYE) will open the doors to Hamilton’s historic and beloved Tivoli Theatre at a press conference this Thursday. A mural that will adorn the wall protecting the site will also be unveiled and a progress update on redevelopment plans for the landmark will be presented.
The CBYE announced the acquisition of the property in early September and excellent progress has been made toward arranging financing and forming a Capital Campaign Committee.
The CBYE plans extensive renovations that will eventually develop the Tivoli into its official home as well as a designated school for the performing arts. Evelyn Hart, one of Canada’s most beloved and famous Prima Ballerinas will be the Artistic Advisor for the CBYE. Her passion for the arts and her association with the school will provide inspiration for both students and faculty. In addition, the facility will also become the permanent home of ProArteDanza, a visionary dance company founded by former National Ballet of Canada dancer and renowned choreographer, Roberto Campanella, who will also teach at the school.
