In the Land of Magic

New paintings by Cosme Proenza Almaguer and Pedro Pablo Oliva

Hailing from opposite points on the island of Cuba, Pedro Pablo Oliva (Pinar del Río, 1949) and Cosme Proenza Almaguer (Holguín, 1948) studied art at the National Art School in Havana, and both returned to live and work in their hometowns. Praised as the instigators of a modern renaissance in Cuban painting in the seventies, their successful careers have taken them across Europe and the Americas. Their styles, imagery and accomplishments span the breadth of artistic achievements of their generation.

The exhibition in Hamilton is their first two-person show in Canada.
